welcome!
The curtain is going up...on a summer filled with the excitement and magic of theater!

Stagedoor Manor offers total theater immersion plus all of the fun of a great summer camp. It’s the only performing arts program of its type in the world!

Do you dream of standing in the spotlight on opening night, of seeing yourself on television or in the movies, of hearing the applause of an audience? Imagine yourself meeting casting agents, talking to directors, producers, and sharing your dreams with kids just like you who love theater and the performing arts!

At Stagedoor Manor, performers of all levels -- beginner and advanced -- find expression and fulfillment on stage and in the classroom. Our program is for young performers ages 10-18.

You make the choices: Musical or Drama? Jazz or Tap? Or both!

You will perform because everyone is cast in a show. You will learn from Directors, Choreographers, and Vocal Coaches who have been selected because of their years of experience motivating and guiding young performers.

Get ready for the most fantastic summer of your life!!!!

Summer 2009 was an amazing one at Stagedoor, with Twitter highlights and pictures streaming live from camp almost every day! In addition to visits from the Broadway cast of HAIR, Stagedoor premiered new productions of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, THE WEDDING SINGER, and CURTAINS!

Summer 2008 saw us open our newest performing space: The Oasis Theater! We also launched DRAMAFEST, which was featured in this story on Playbill. Adding to the excitement, of course, were our premiere productions of Arlene Hutton's LETTERS TO SALA, Andrew Lippa's WILD PARTY, and Mel Brooks' THE PRODUCERS!

Summers at Stagedoor are always exciting: In 2007, in partnership with Music Theatre International and the original creators, Stagedoor produced a one-time workshop School Edition of the international hit Avenue Q. We were also fortunate to produce a pilot production of RENT School Edition (which Stagedoor helped develop over the past two summers) and the first MTI workshop production of Sweeney Todd School Edition.

Summer 2006 was spectacular, too, as Stagedoor produced the world-premiere production of Disney's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, featured in Life Story and in other national magazines. Take a few minutes to check out this feature about Stagedoor in the New York Post and this amazing video segment about Stagedoor that ran on THE TODAY SHOW. Stagedoor has also been profiled in The Sondheim Review and People. Be sure to read all of our press on the Press page!

If you'd like information about our program, you can find an application, our FAQ sheet, brochure and our videos on the More Info page.

Dramafest 2009

Samuel French publishes Dramafest 2009!

In 1981, Stephen Sondheim founded Young Playwrights Inc. with the goal to discover and nurture young writing talent for the stage. Stagedoor Manor, in conjunction with Young Playwrights Inc, is excited to offer our students an opportunity to produce and publish their original work! Dramafest is a one-day event, each session, during which five original ten-minute scripts are performed for a full student audience and invited industry guests. At the end of each summer, the five winners (from all three sessions) have their work published by OnStage Press, a division of Samuel French, Inc.

To purchase a copy of Dramafest 2009, please send us an email!
