Chris Jennings

Chris Jennings is the Executive Director of Manhattan Theatre Club, with over 30 years of leadership experience in both the non-profit and commercial theatre sectors. Prior to joining MTC, Jennings served as Executive Director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC for 19 seasons. Under his leadership, STC was the recipient of the 2012 Regional Theatre Tony Award and produced and commissioned more than 100 productions and completed the $90 million construction and opening of Sidney Harman Hall. Jennings also spearheaded the launch of District Shakespeare, an innovative access program that offers every 10th-grade student across all 53 D.C. public schools the opportunity to experience live Shakespeare performances. Prior to joining STC, Jennings held senior leadership roles as General Manager at Trinity Repertory Company (1999–2004) and Theatre for a New Audience (1997–1999). Jennings holds a BFA in Theatre/Music from the University of Miami and an MFA in Theatre Management from the Yale School of Drama.
