Jonathan Marc Sherman

Jonathan Marc Sherman is best known to musical fans for his portrayal of Ira Weitzman in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tick, Tick…BOOM!  An accomplished playwright, he is the author of the off-Broadway hit Things We Want, directed by Ethan Hawke. Sherman’s breakout play, Women and Wallace, won the Young Playwrights Festival at Playwrights Horizons and was televised on American Playhouse. His other works include the new film version of Sondheim’s Merrilly We Roll Along, the 2020 off-Broadway musical Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice, Sophistry, and Knickerbocker, which world-premiered at the Public Theatre. He also acts on occasion to remind himself why he became a playwright.
