Austin Winsberg

Austin Winsberg is the creator and executive producer of the hit NBC series “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” and the Executive Producer of “Acapulco” on Apple TV+ and Secret Society of Second Born Royals for Disney+.  As a TV writer, Winsberg served as co-executive producer of 9JKL and consulting producer of Gossip Girl. In 2013, he wrote the adaptation of NBC’s hugely successful live “The Sound of Music” event starring Carrie Underwood.  On Broadway, Winsberg served as the book writer for the musical “First Date,” which enjoyed a sold out co-production at Seattle’s 5th Ave/ACT Theatre prior to opening at the Longacre Theatre in 2013.  Winsberg graduated with a theater arts degree from Brown University. He is a five-time winner of the Blank Theater Company’s Annual Young Playwright’s Festival in Los Angeles.  When not working on his series, he continues to work actively with the Blank, directing and mentoring plays by teenage playwrights from all around the country.
